Wat Phra Yai, known in English as the Big Buddha Temple, is a temple on Kho Fann, a small island located on north of Samui, about 3 km. away. The Big Buddha statue made by gold-painted sits in the Mara posture, with the left hand’s palm up resting on the lap and the right hand facing down, the fingers hanging over the knee and grazing the ground. . Since this place was built, it became main tourist attractions and a major landmark. Kho Fann is connected to mother land with a causeway. Around the area has many shops open.
